The HID-chip family is a new addition to our product line.
What You Need to Know About Norms and RFID
Many applications in the security sector require the use of RFID-chips which adhere to certain norms. This concerns the transmission protocol of the air interface as well as the encryption standards for the storage of the information. The ISO 14443 is the norm for the transmission in the Proximity-area (<10 cm). The Vicinity-area from 10 cm to 100 cm is covered by the ISO 15693.
Applications of RFID-cards
- Company and employee ID-cards
- Key-cards
- Student ID-cards
- ID & Access cards
- Accreditation
- Customer cards

NFC Cards
NFC (Near Field Communication) is the name of a special RFID-technology with secure coupling procedures on a frequency of 13.65 MHz between tags and an active device and /or two active devices. The NFC-technology allows a data transmission up to a distance of 5cm. In contrast to the common RFID-technology, NFC is expanded with additional security mechanisms. Nowadays, the NFC-standard is primarily known for its use in the field of contactless payment via debit or credit card, but it can also be used for various other applications. Smartphones can control other devices, couple with them and access information or execute tasks and apps, all via NFC. Thus, countless new possibilities are offered, from digital business cards and product information to the “Internet of Things”.

UHF Weitbereichskarten
Advantages and Disadvantages
UHF cards work with a frequency from 865 to 868 MHz in Europe, in America from 902 to 915 MHz, and in Asia from 910 to 956 MHz. Fast data transmission and light-like dispersion characteristics are the result. High reading distances may be possible but obstacles in the way of the rays can compromise the reception significantly. Thus, the recognition of persons and objects always requires visual contact between tag and antenna. In many access solutions, UHF-transponders are places as cards behind the windshield ore directly used as windshieldlabels .

Typical Applications of UHF-Cards
- Access control & access solutions
- Parking cards and access permit
- Identification
- eTickets
- Logistical applications (stock taking, toll, etc.)
- Smart City applications
