Encoding of data media
Encoding is always necessary for the use of data media. This encoding may correspond with the optically readable characteristics and provides the evaluating system with information about the identity, account number, balance or other data of the card holder. Depending on the chosen data medium and encryption method, the security level of this encoding may be between "no security" and "corresponds to the currently recommended security standard". Plasticard-ZFT can encode all the data media for you to your specifications or advise you about security in encoding procedures.
Memory chips have no or only simple security precautions for access to the saved data. Plasticard-ZFT encodes all the chip types to your specifications. For chip types with their own UID (UniqueIDentification Number), we also create assignment files between the optically readable number and the manufacturer's own UID.
Processor chips contain a complete computer, generally with an additional cryptographic coprocessor. Programming these chips is much more complex and has several stages, from the pre-programming of certain structures to the loading of so-called applets (customer-specific programmes) and the encoding of personal data and certificates. Plasticard-ZFT supports you with finding the right solution and with the development of secure processes.
Magnetic stripes and barcodes
These data media have little access protection, but are still frequently used, unchanged, in many areas. The encodings for magnetic stripes or barcodes are largely standardised internationally, but are still very varied. We will help you to find the right code for your application.
