Materials & workmanship

Exclusive and specialised materials

You are looking for alternatives to the standard PVC card? Plasticard-ZFT has already developed RFID wooden cards, carbon cards and cards with a mirrored surface.  Transparent or partially transparent plastic cards are also possible. Some applications require magnetic cards or cards with electromagnetic shielding through a ferrite foil. We rise to every challenge related to cards. Contact us. We would be happy to help you with the realisation of your card project.

Individual structure, individual thickness

Plastic cards are produced from several layers of foil material. Plasticard-ZFT produces its cards with modern Lauffer presses and specially developed automatic card machines. The structure can include between 3 and more than 7 layers, depending on the type of card and the requirements. Thus, almost any card thickness between a thin plastic card (0.35 or 0.50 mm), a standard card (0.76 mm to 0.82 mm) and custom-made products over 1 mm is feasible.

Longer, higher, better

PVC cards quickly reach their limits in the event of high thermal or mechanical stress. Plasticard-ZFT offers cards with improved properties – the HT cards range. Due to targeted combinations of materials, the service life, temperature and UV-resistance, flexural strength and tensile strength are considerably improved. HT cards can be used, for example, in vehicles, laptops, saunas, heavy industry or in hot climates.  You can find out more here.

Environmentally-friendly cards

95% of all the cards produced in the world are still made from PVC. Polyvinyl chloride is not appreciated by all users. Plasticard-ZFT is happy to advise you with regard to the environment and will help you to find an appropriate solution for your interests. As an environmentally-certified company according to ISO 14002 and with our experts in the chemistry of plastics, we are able to help you to find a suitable alternative, even if there is no serious completely acceptable "organic solution" on the market.

Good to know

The environmental management of Plasticard-ZFT is approved and certified to DIN EN ISO 14001:2009. You can find the certificate here:
