HT-Cards – stability is their strength

HT-Cards are plastic cards with special properties that surpass the standard PVC cards in terms of stability and durability. The display to the left shows a rough overview of the extent to which important card parameters are outdone. You can find more accurate data in the document "Standards and application classes", in which the testing methods used and the typical application conditions for plastic and chip cards are described.


HT Card 70

HT Card 70 is equipped with increased tensile strength and temperature-resistance. It can withstand temperatures of up to 70°C for a long time and is, therefore, suitable for use in laptops and other electronic appliances.

The increased tensile strength ensures an extended service life, e.g. for student and school ID cards.

The advantages of HT Card 70 are its unlimited printability with all the card printers that are available on the market and the low additional charge in comparison to standard PVC cards.

HT Card 85

HT Card 85 is designed for high mechanical and chemical stress. It can withstand temperatures up to 85°C, tolerates grease and solvents and can thus be used in heavy industry or in comparably harsh application conditions.

The high UV-resistance of materials and printing inks also makes HT Card 85 suitable for continuous use in vehicles.

In combination with our digital OSP printing procedure and sub-surface printing of the personalisation, highly wear-resistant ID cards can be provided as a HT Card 85, particularly suited for high frequencies of use and for slot readers.

FOGRA-tested

The card type HT Card 85 was subjected to artificial ageing and tested for adherence to the ISO specifications after 5 and 10 years of ageing by an independent testing institute. You can find the certificate for the test here:

HT Card 100

The properties of HT Card 100 resemble those of fully polycarbonate cards, but with lower costs and shorter delivery periods. Like HT Card 70 and HT Card 85, it can be supplied with all types of RFID and contact chips.

This type of card can withstand ambient temperatures of up to 100°C. Its matt surface and its laser capability make HT Card 100 suitable for difficult application conditions with high temperatures and a heavy strain on the surface.

HT Card 100 can also be supplied with sub-surface printing of the personalisation. Thus, colourful passport photos can be used, even in conjunction with a polycarbonate surface.
